Jimmy's character finally sheds whatever social grace and secret hatred for his boss, Rock Hudson as Bick Benedict and erupts in corrosive, venemous rage that's pure joy to behold

The tilting of the Stetson back and forth every other sec. The nervous tension brewing within but barely containable, man,... I could go on and on. HE'S THAT GOOD IN THIS. Haha

These scenes are not only 2 of the best on film. But in my opinion, probably  the greatest in cinema. PERIOD.

George Stevens 1955 epic adapted from Edna Ferber’s novel about a texas family, a surly low-class wildcatter who ends up a millionaire, and 3 1/2 hours of other drama so catty it’d make any soap opera on t.v. look like an episode of Winnie the pooh!                                 Jimmy deans acting is without a doubt top-notch. The scene in which Jett finally strikes is absolutely brilliant, and a perfect example of what a flash of genius looks like. Jimmy dean took his inner demons and projected them out, to a positive place: his acting.

Always the stylish man about town, ANY town. The guy just looked fucking great, no matter where he was or what he was wearing. A sense of style this man had in spades, like no other before or since. Here Jimmy is scoping out the territory for a film he was act. Making while filming "Giant".

Here Jimmy is scoping out the territory for a film he was act. Making while filming “Giant”. Towards the end of his life, he had been filming A LOT. It’s been suggested he wanted to direct and would’ve gone onto directing had he lived. It’s also been said Jimmy practically directed “Rebel w/o a cause”, even by Nicholas ray, the film’s director. Sadly, within days after his death his places in both coasts had been raided by sick and deranged “fans” taking with them among other items: most of the film he shot. There’s some still. Check ’em out. Pretty cool stuff.

Yeah, he certainly seemed self-destructive, and probably was. Who the hell ISN’T at 21,22,23,24,etc…,
Despite whoever, whatever, or however jimmy dean was once upon a time, there is absolutely no doubt in his ability as an artist.

Dean looking exhausted. Can't say i blame the guy. From the accounts I've read of this filming, Steven's was notorious in his demand of actors being on set and ready to go at a moment's notice should an idea or anything come up. To say Jimmy didn't take kindly is putting it mildly.

The second scene,…. Well,  any fan’s of film or James Dean should watch this scene. Not once, not twice, but at least a few more than that. WATCH Jimmy, And when you get to the part where Jimmy says ” I’m sentimental too Bick”, watch his face. I guarantee that if you keep your eye’s on Jimmy throughout, esp. that moment you will see genius. True genius. Acting at it’s best , by its best. Sad at the thought of “What would’ve been….”

Jett Rink, surly Texas wildcat and ranch hand in love with Liz Benedict, who stops by for a visit .

Jimmy Dean on a smoke break. As usual, with THAT air of cool hung around him like the smoke wafting from the tip’s his non filtered cig’s.
